Because I’ve been where you are now.

Let me take you back to a little over 20 years ago.

Having cut my teeth in tele sales, I landed a well paid field based sales role.

I was ecstatically happy.  I had a high base salary plus commission, a company car, pension plan, health care scheme and lots of other perks.

It really was the dream job!

I threw myself into it with enthusiasm.  I learnt my product inside out, understood my market, devoured the sales training and quickly started to make an impact.

And for several years everything was great. It felt like I had found the best match for my skills and personality.

On the outside everything looked great.

But the truth was I was working longer and harder to hit my KPIs.

As a result my life outside work was suffering.

There was no time or consideration for my own wellbeing. My health was suffering and my hobbies took a back seat.  And to top it off my marriage was crumbling.

This amazing career, that had promised so much, was turning into golden handcuffs.

I felt trapped.  I couldn’t quit.

Other jobs paid a fraction of what I was earning.  And I was already living beyond my means as it was.

I began to suffer real moments of despair.

Which impacted on my performance and results. Both became erratic.

In an attempt to pull myself out from this low I devoured everything I could find on personal development, mind set and sales.  And some of this did help.  At least for a time.

I was still seen as a valued team member.  I ranked high for my in-call performance on assessment days, was experienced and knowledgeable about my product and customers and an excellent coach.

But the feelings of stress and overwhelm always hung over me.

And often I couldn’t find the motivation to make my sales calls or the confidence to close the sale.  Or I would force myself to perform. Leading to even more feelings of stress. 

I felt like a failure and a fraud.

My turning point came by chance.

I’d joined a year long mentoring program.  My aim was to find a way to get out of sales for good.

I’d expected the usual development skills such as strategy, mindset and goal setting.  And that this would help me cope with my stress and eventually find a better way to earn a living.

But little did I know my mentor had recently been introduced to a more enlighten approach to life.  

And that this would have a profound impact on me.

He had let go of the tools and techniques he’d made a lucrative business of teaching.

His focus was no longer on what to do and what to fix.

Instead he shared a deeper understanding of how life works.  And the implications on my everyday experience.

At first I resisted.  I’m a pretty practical kind of girl and my career was in a very science based industry.

What he shared seemed too simplistic, a bit “woo woo” and irrelevant to the real world!

My “Yeah But” went into overdrive!!!

But at a deeper level, beyond my logical mind, something resonated.

It was like a part of me was waking up.

It was subtle at first.  I didn’t start with a huge epiphany.  (Although I’ve had many life changing insights since).

And yet I noticed my life started to get easier and freer.

I felt less pressure.  My sales conversations were more impactful. Difficult customers and colleagues became friendlier.  I was able to completely turnaround a declining market share.  And become top sales person in my team.

All whilst working less hours.

Because of this I had more time and energy for my hobbies outside work.

I lost 35lbs in weight, my health improved and my relationships with both my husband and family became more loving.

I realised then that this was the missing element I had been searching for.

Understanding the true nature of human experience provides the solid foundation on which anything can be built.

And I’ve found this to be true for the clients I share this with.

When you understand the Universal Principles that create your experience.  And combine this with your sales skills, product and market knowledge; you take your sales ability to a whole new level.

Without increasing your levels of stress and overwhelm.
